Kitchen Route — Alien Invasyndrome Demo

Food-wing patrols, softlocks, and clean exits toward Security

Alien Invasyndrome Kitchen Route

Why Kitchen matters

In the Alien Invasyndrome Demo, Kitchen is the mid-clear pressure room after nesting and early skill spends. You still play a weak alien larva on Atlas, but Kitchen sight lines punish tourism. This page is a route sheet: entry, patrol habits, softlock recovery, nest banking, and exit toward Security Room. Adult content is 18+; we stay mechanical.

Parent spine: Demo Walkthrough. Next gate: Security Routes. Hub: Walkthrough Hub. Systems: Stealth and Detection, How to Nest.

Wishlist Steam 4603980 (Mozu Field / 百舌鳥, Shady Corner Games). Full release TBA.

Preconditions before you enter

Do not open Kitchen as your first real room. Confirm:

  1. You can softlock under a desk on command — Keyboard, Stealth Actions.
  2. Nest income exists — How to Nest, Nest Checklist.
  3. At least a starter INT/STR plan — Early Build, Skill Tree.
  4. UI is readable — Locale Emulator if Japanese strings fail on Windows.

If detection is already spiraling from Clinic or Cafeteria side trips, reset at nest before Kitchen.

Entry pattern

Treat Kitchen like a timed puzzle, not a loot room.

  1. Scout the doorway from corridor shadow. Watch idle turns and cross-traffic toward Cafeteria-adjacent halls if your build connects them.
  2. Enter on a turn-away, not on a facing idle.
  3. Hug cover furniture — desks and counters are your softlock bank.
  4. Commit one objective (interaction / capture window / route tag) then decide: bank nest or push deeper.
  5. Never chain three loud actions without a hide cycle.

Map landmarks: Key Rooms, Atlas Overview, Decks.

Patrol and sight-line habits

Kitchen fails when you treat open floor as safe. Typical Demo mistakes:

  • Cutting across the center after a successful grab.
  • Standing in doorway frames while menus open.
  • Leaving hide at 20–30 seconds because “it feels quiet.”
  • Chasing a crew member into Laboratory or Clinic without a retreat tile marked.

Correct habits:

  • Prefer edge paths and furniture shadows.
  • Pre-select the desk you will use if spotted.
  • Count the ~1 minute hide after a full spotting — Detection Timer.
  • If you only got a partial look, still bias toward a short softlock rather than a hero sprint.

Deep theory: Stealth and Detection.

Softlock under desks (Kitchen-specific)

Kitchen softlocks are common because counters and desks sit near work loops. Use them when:

  • A patrol turns into your last tile.
  • You finished an interaction and need detection decay.
  • You need to re-time a doorway that just closed on you.

Intended hide versus stuck state:

  • Intended: you can wait, then exit after the timer mood settles.
  • Stuck: UI dead, cannot leave, input ignored — Softlock Fixes.

Do not mash every bind while stuck; that often deepens Demo glitches.

Nest return cadence

Kitchen is a harvest zone, not a nest. After a clean slice:

  1. Exit to a safer corridor.
  2. Bank nest progress.
  3. Spend points only if the next goal is Security Room readiness.
  4. Re-enter Kitchen only with a new single objective.

Skipping nest returns to “finish Kitchen faster” is how players arrive at Security Room half-upgraded. Keep How to Nest and Skill Planner in the loop.

INT vs STR in Kitchen

  • INT-leaning: favor longer waits, cleaner interact windows, fewer forced confrontations on the food floor.
  • STR-leaning: helps when a patrol pattern refuses to open, but STR does not delete sight cones.

Either way, stealth nodes and softlock discipline outrank vanity dumps. See Early Build.

Side rooms that tempt you out of Kitchen

Depending on your Demo path you may glimpse:

  • Clinic — medical timing; easy to overstay.
  • Laboratory — research risk; park it until nest is fat.
  • Cafeteria — open sight lines; worse softlock discipline than Kitchen.
  • Security Room — only after Kitchen objectives and nest bank are done.

Crew context: Crew. Do not let character curiosity overwrite route discipline.

Exit toward Security Room

You are ready to leave Kitchen when:

  • Nest economy is stable after Kitchen gains.
  • You can softlock and recover without panic.
  • You know whether you will try Security Way A or Way B — pre-read Security Routes and Security Room.
  • You are not mid-detection spiral.

Then return to the spine: Demo Walkthrough at the Security chapter, or jump straight into Security Routes.

Practice loop (10 minutes)

  1. Enter Kitchen on a turn-away.
  2. Touch one objective.
  3. Softlock immediately on purpose.
  4. Wait a full detection minute with Detection Timer.
  5. Exit, bank nest, stop.

Repeat until boring. Boring is the skill. Then resume the Demo Walkthrough.

Keep Kitchen short, banked, and quiet. The Demo rewards patience more than hero runs across the food floor.

Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common Alien Invasyndrome questions.

When should I enter the Kitchen in the Demo?

After nesting and early skill spends. Follow the Demo Walkthrough order: intro → nest → skills → Kitchen.

How long do I hide if spotted in Kitchen?

Plan on about one minute under a desk or equivalent softlock. Use Detection Timer and Stealth and Detection.

Should I go to Security Room straight from Kitchen?

Bank nest progress first, then pre-read Security Routes. Do not enter Security mid-detection spiral.

What if I get stuck under a Kitchen desk?

Wait out intended hides; if the UI freezes, use Softlock Fixes.
